India had shown some brilliant performance in the first Test of the four-match Test series against Australia. However, Man of the Match Cheteshwar Pujara had played some excellent cricket in both the innings, and he thanked everyone for their best wishes. Meanwhile, it is India’s second win at the famous venue after Rahul Dravid powered them to a victory in 2003. Moreover, this is the first time in history that India won the first match of a Test series Down Under. However, credit goes to all the Indian bowlers, as they bowled some superb spells in the entire game.

‘Super’ Pujara thanks the well-wishers!

Earlier, India scored 250 in their first innings with Cheteshwar Pujara slamming his 16th Test century. In reply, Australia could only manage to score 235 runs and India took a lead of 15 runs. However, the visitors then scored 307 in the second innings and set a target of 323 runs to the hosts. Though Australia tried hard to save the Test, they fell short by 31 runs.

Now, since making Test debut in 2008, Pujara has always drawn a comparison with great Rahul Dravid. Just like Dravid, Pujara also believes in testing the opposition bowlers. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara had scored 123 runs in the first innings and followed up with a score of 71 runs in the second essay.

Furthermore, the 30-year-old appreciated all the team members for their excellent show. He also thanked all the well-wishers, and his fans for pouring blesses.

“It’s been a great first match at the Adelaide Oval! Thank you so much for your wishes. Really delighted with the way we played as a team and put up a great fight! On to the next one now! #AUSvIND” Cheteshwar Pujara wrote in his Twitter account.

Moreover, the second Test of the series will be played in Perth from Friday. India is leading the series 1-0.
