Pakistan are currently touring Australia where the hosts have entirely dominated so far in the tour consisting of three T20 internationals and two Tests. Australia wrapped up an innings victory in the first Test at the Gabba in Brisbane and have opted for an unchanged eleven for the second Test in Adelaide that begins on November 29 (Friday). There had been rumours that the home side could go ahead with four quick bowlers, leaving out Nathan Lyon for the pink-ball Test.

It meant that the Baggy greens pondered handing Michael Neser his maiden Test cap or bringing in James Pattinson, who narrowly missed out on playing his first Test since he faced a ban for player abuse. However, a scintillating display of bowling in Brisbane ensured that Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc have retained their spots for the day and night Test.
Australia also resisted the urge to make changes to their batting order. Australian captain and wicketkeeper Tim Paine addressed the media by saying that all their players are feeling fresh after excellent returns in the first Test. Keeping in mind their undefeated run in pink-ball cricket, the veteran confirmed that they have stuck with an unchanged eleven.
“Obviously we thought we played a pretty good game of cricket last week and our attack’s all feeling good and fresh and have a great pink ball record so no need to change,” Paine said as quoted by foxsports.com.au.

Paine has his take on the absence of a concussion substitute
In the recent past, the instances of roping in a concussion substitute have been on the rise. With Australia choosing an unchanged eleven, James Pattinson and Cameron Bancroft will link up with their state teams to play Shield cricket. This means that they will be without a batting substitute in case a concussion takes place. When asked Paine’s opinion on this, the skipper joked about it and said we would bring someone from the crowd to bat in that case.
“We’ll just get someone out the crowd,” the Australian captain said wittily.
