Australia vs India 2018-19: 2nd ODI, Adelaide Oval – Match Prediction; Well, it was quite a night on the other day at the office for Australians. They comfortably thumped Indians to secure victory in the first ODI of the game to go 1-0 up in the 3-match ODI series. On the other hand, Indians clearly looked clueless in handling the Pace attack of the hosts.

Australians got momentum:

Australians will enter into the game with massive confidence and the momentum on their side. They have displayed tremendous team effort to make things fall in place against Indians in the first ODI.

All their batsmen delivered the goods while bowlers looked quite happy to bowl at Indian batsmen. Peter Handscomb was the pick of the lot with his quickfire innings of 73 runs in 61 balls against India. His middle-order partner and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis hit 47 runs from 43 balls.

Both these batsmen along with Shaun Marsh (54 runs from 70 balls) are the core of their middle order and are once again expected to cause problems for the Indian bowlers. Usman Khawaja also looked solid at the top.

However, it was Aaron Finch, who needs to pull up his socks in order to deliver for the team. Alex Carey, the new opener also got a start but failed to carry on. Meanwhile, the intriguing aspect is the role of Glenn Maxwell.

India puts their hope on top-order:

It was once again proved that the Indian batting lineup has pretty much relied on the top-order batting unit. The wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu were quite expensive for India, which were knocked out for cheap scores.

However, Australians were a bit lucky with the wicket of Virat Kohli while the wickets of Dhawan and Rayudu have been knocked out with their sheer brilliance. Meanwhile, the half-century by Mahendra Singh Dhoni was a positive point to take out alongside Rohit Sharma’s incredible century.

Khaleel Ahmad was quite expensive and failed to get any wicket in the previous match and one might see him make way for Yuzvendra Chahal or Mohammad Siraj in the next game. Jadeja, Shami and Bhuvneshwar will have a lot of work to do in the 2nd ODI at Adelaide Oval.

Match Prediction:

Well, Indians were put in the similar kind of situations in the previous times as well. With the motivating leader and best batting unit on their side, they might win the game at Adelaide. Though Australians are in a decent nick, Indians got the perfect team balance to make things happen.
