Well, the pitch was the major headliner throughout the series between Australia and India. From Adelaide to the third Test Melbourne, the pitch has been the significant debated topic and also received a poor rating from ICC. Meanwhile, the curator for the final Test makes his voice on the nature of the SCG pitch.

After Perth pitch was rated poor, it was expected that Melbourne pitch would meet the quality. However, it wasn’t the case, as it also drawn a lot of flak from the spectators and the analysts, as the pitch behaved pretty poor.

It would be different to tour game – Grooves

It was the pitch that was used for a tour game. However, the curator believes that it would be pretty different, as the climate changed drastically in the meantime. Further, he is happy with the way work is going on for the pitch.

Grooves went to say adding that pitch would be unpredictable. He believes that fast bowlers and spinners, both would get the ample assistance from the pitch. However, a green top is expected on Day 1.

“We’ve had a bit more preparation time for our pitch here. Also, the weather is a lot different too. We had a fair bit of rain leading into that tour match, and even during the tour match. We’re now hotter, a bit more humid and our weather is really good for the five days. It’s going to be a lot different to what it was for the tour match,” Grooves said.

“A green tinge on days one and two … turning late in the game and a bit more unpredictable as the game wears on.  We’re really happy with it,” he added further.

Well, it would be interesting to see how the pitch would behave for the final Test. Meanwhile, Australia wants to take a call on their playing XI, after having a fair look on the pitch.
