India’s middle-order batsman Dinesh Karthik was seen receiving some batting tips on how to encounter spin from former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Karthik was standing behind MS Dhoni when the latter was batting in the nets. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni scored 51 runs from 96 balls in the first ODI against Australia. However, Dhoni was unfortunate to be dismissed when the ball had pitched outside the leg-stump.

Dhoni stitched an alliance of 137 runs with India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma to keep India in the hunt. The visitors had their backs against the wall when they were reeling at 4-3. A partnership was the need of the hour for the tourists however Dhoni could not rotate the strike at regular intervals.
