Australia vs India 2018-19: MS Dhoni Completes 10000 Runs for India

The former Indian captain MS Dhoni has completed his 10,000 runs in the ODI format for the Indian team. Dhoni has thus far scored 10,174 runs in the 50-overs format. However, Dhoni has scored 174 while playing for the Asia XI. The former captain has been a massive contributor for the Indian cricket. Thus, Dhoni has added another feather to his illustrious cap.
Dhoni is playing his 333 ODI as India is locking horns against Australia. The talisman batsman has scored 10 hundred and 67 fifties in his fine career. In fact, he has scored most of his runs while batting at the number six position for the Men in Blue.

Thus, to carry an average of 50.12 throughout the long career is a big achievement. Furthermore, it is never easy to bat in the lower order and Dhoni has done with great success as he has provided the finishing touches.
Meanwhile, the former skipper is not in the best of forms in the recent past. Dhoni’s power-hitting capabilities are on the wane and it would be imperative for the Indian team that he finds his Midas Touch before the World Cup.
On the other hand, India has their backs against the wall in the first One-Dayer against Australia. The visitors are tottering at 19-3 with Rohit Sharma and Dhoni at the crease.

Australia had posted a competitive score of 288 runs in the first innings after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. Peter Handscomb top-scored for the hosts with a fluent 73 from 61 balls. Furthermore, Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh scored fifties to help Australia in getting to a par score.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets for the tourists. Moreover, Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket.
