Indian National Cricket team skipper Virat Kohli who has blown hot and cold in the ongoing series against Australia, showed his class on Tuesday’s clash at Adelaide with a match-winning knock of 104 runs. Following his knock, former skipper Sourav Ganguly seemed tired of using the same words while describing Kohli’s brilliance.

Meanwhile, Kohli scored 104 of 112 balls sharing an 82-run stand with MS Dhoni (56) to take India inch closer to victory. Dhoni steered India to a six-wicket win to level the series 1-1. Virat Kohli struck two fifty-plus run stands with Ambati Rayudu and Dhoni for the third and fourth wicket respectively before falling to Jhye Richardson in the 44th over while trying to up the scoring rate.

Kohli is a big player and we are tired of saying this. If any young player was seeing this innings, he will learn how to control the game. When he reached 70, his run-rate jumped to 100 because he knew that run-rate is going high.

I’ve seen a lot of great players. I’ve seen Sachin, I’ve played over 300 games myself but for Virat Kohli, all I will say is — Wow. Outstanding and he is an all-time great and the next six years or whatever he plays, he will be great for India,” Ganguly said in IndiaTV’s show Cricket Ki Baat.

India need to improve their bowling

In addition to, the 46-year-old Sourav Ganguly seemed concerned about India’s bowling and Ambati Rayudu. Ganguly admitted that India needs to improve in these two fields going into the New Zealand series.

India bowled well but Australia should have made 310-315 after the start they got. So India bowled well but I felt that it could have been better. The middle phase is very important and India need to get wickets. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja are important for India and Kohli needs to find a way to make them more attacking,” Ganguly said.

Rayudu has to score runs. He has looked out of place outside the sub-continent but he will take some time. We should talk about him after five-six games or New Zealand,” he concluded.
