India’s mystery chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav scalped his first Test wicket on Australia soil and also gave India their first breakthrough of the third day morning. Usman Khawaja who made a steady start to the third day’s play tried to change the gears. Khawaja was unnecessarily aggressive as he was trying to take on the Indian spinners. In fact, he had also gone for the reverse sweep.

The southpaw batsman tried to go over the top against Kuldeep Yadav. However, he could not get his timing right and gave a simple catch to first innings centurion Cheteshwar Pujara at mid-wicket. It is going to be a big day for the Indian bowlers and they would like to come up roses at flat Sydney track.

Poor shot from Khawaja.

Thus, India got their first wicket of the day and it was a crucial wicket as Khawaja has the skills to bat long. On the other hand, the other Australian opener Marcus Harris has looked positive on the third days’ morning. Harris has got off to another good start and has completed his second fifty in the red ball version.

India had posted a gargantuan total of 622 runs in the first innings and have got their wood on the hosts. Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant were the bulk of the scorers as Pujara scored 193 whereas Pant scored an unbeaten 159.

Pant also broke a lot of records and became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred in Australia. Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal had provided a great start to the tourists.

The Karnataka batsman has hit the paddle running in his Test career as he has scored two fifties in his three innings. Hence, he would like to continue in a similar fashion.

Here is the wicket of Usman Khawaja:
