Australia vs India 2018-19: Yuzvendra Chahal's Heroics Restricts Australia To 230, Twitter reacts
Updated - 18 Jan 2019, 01:11 PM
Well, it was a tremendous day at the office for Yuzvendra Chahal, who finished with a six-wicket haul. His incredible spell followed by the brilliance from the fast bowlers and the fielders helped India to restrict Australia for a below-par total on the board.
Initially, it was India, who won the toss and choose to bowl first. The premium swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar was once again brilliant for India, who sent back Alex Carey and Aaron Finch for cheap scores.
It was a disappointing inning from Aaron Finch, who was expected to score runs at his home ground. However, Bhuvneshwar was too good for him. Meanwhile, it was again Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja, who started to balance the ship.
The duo added a 73-run partnership for the third wicket before Yuzvendra Chahal injected a double-wicket over in the innings. Firstly, he tricked Shaun Marsh by bowling a wide delivery to see MS Dhoni breaking the stumps while Usman Khawaja gave a simple return catch.
During the course, Marcus Stoinis also walked back in quick time to make things look bleak for Australia. However, Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell tried to counter-attack Indians, who were successful for quite a period of time.
Just when things looked like moving in a better mode, Shami’s bounced followed by Bhuvneshwar’s brilliant dive catch sent Glenn Maxwell back to the hut. It also pushed Indians back to driver seat to take the advantage in the game.
Though Peter Handscomb hung in the middle, it was Chahal, who spun a web around the Australian batsmen. They never looked comfortable in tackling the leg-spinner, who ended up giving him a 6-wicket haul.

Great effort from the Indian bowlers to bowl out Australia for 230. @yuzi_chahal was outstanding to pick up 6 wickets. Now for our batsman to chase this and win the one day series as well.

Excellent spell from Chahal. Has pulled the game India's way. Took wickets at the top, bowled deep into the innings, did everything asked of him today.
