Australia vs India 2018: 2nd Test - Twitter Slams Murali Vijay As He Perishes For Low Score Again

Indian National Cricket team opener Murali Vijay continued his poor show with the bat as once again he perishes for a duck from a peach of a delivery from Mitchell Starc on day two of the second Test against Austalia at Perth.

Meanwhile, the visitors went to lunch at six for one losing Vijay at the stroke of lunch. The onus will now be on last match hero Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul to bail India out of the early loss. Previously, Australia posted 326 runs on the board after a 69-run partnership between Pat Cummins and Tim Paine. Paceman Ishant Sharma cleaned of the tail as he returned with four wickets.

In reply to Australia’s first innings total, India craved for a good start from their openers. Although Rahul looked confident in the opening minutes, Murali Vijay struggled to find his footing. Eventually, Mitchell Starc broke his defense with a booming inswinger that castled his timber. The Tamil Nadu-born batsmen had no feet movement which led to his downfall as Starc managed to find the gap between bat and pad.

However, another failure had raised questions on Murali Vijay’s career as Sunil Gavaskar came down heavily on the opener from the commentary box. Earlier in the year, Vijay found himself out of the team following his lean scores in England. He once again made it into the team after a good County stint and a good practice game in Australia. Moreover, the injury of young Prithvi Shaw paved his way into the first eleven.

Murali Vijay, however, will have once more innings to showcase his worth and play a bid knock for his team.
