A resolute effort from Pat Cummins who scored 61 runs from 103 balls kept Indian bowlers at bay. Australia was able to live another day as Cummins found support from Nathan Lyon as the right-hander faced 38 balls for his six runs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli tried to throw everything at Cummins but the right-hander was unwavering in his approach.

However, India is on the cusp of winning the Test match as they need another two wickets to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. The visitors decided to declare their second innings at 106-8 and gave a massive target of 399 runs to the hosts.

Cummins robs India with a chance to finish the match on penultimate’s day.

Jasprit Bumrah was the first to strike as the talisman got the wicket of Australian opener Aaron Finch. The Australian right-hander tried to play a cut shot. However, he got an outside edge which was taken sharply by Virat Kohli. Ravindra Jadeja got the second wicket for India when he got the better of Marcus Harris. The southpaw jabbed at the ball with hard hands and the catch was nicely taken by Mayank Agarwal.

Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja showed some resistance with the bat. However, both the southpaw batsmen were adjudged leg before wicket by Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Shami plumbed Khawaja in front of the wickets whereas Bumrah once again had Marsh leg-before-wicket.
