The Indian team scalped three more wickets in the post-lunch session to strengthen their grip in the ongoing third Test match at MCG. Travis Head was the first wicket of the second session when Jasprit Bumrah was able to find the gap between bat and pad. Head was beaten for pace and Bumrah had his third wicket of the day.

Mitchell Marsh was the second one to go when the right-hander edged the ball to first slip, Ajinkya Rahane. In fact, it was a soft dismissal as it was an innocuous delivery down the leg-side. However, India could have had another quick wicket had their wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant would have taken the catch.

India takes honours.

However, it wasn’t to be to the case as Pant got up too early and fluffed the chance when Pat Cummins was on two runs. Cummins then added a 36-run partnership with his skipper Tim Paine for the seventh wicket.

However, Cummins resistance was ended by Mohammed Shami who was able to get the ball to move in to hit the top of off-stump. Thus, India is in a dominating position as Australia added 56 runs in the second session for the loss of three wickets.
