Australia vs India 2018: Aakash Chopra, Mitchell Johnson Engage in War of Words For Perth Pitch

Former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson and Indian opener Aakash Chopra were engaged in the war of words on Twitter. The International Cricket Council match referee Ranjan Madugalle had rated the Perth Test pitch as average. However, Mitchell Johnson wasn’t impressed with the rating of the governing body.
Johnson said the pitch had offered a good contest between bat and ball. Thus, he was fine with the pitch and didn’t like the rating given by ICC. On the other hand, Aakash Chopra believed the Perth track was dangerous for the batsmen. It had inconsistent bounce as some balls were keeping low whereas some were taking off from the good length area.

Johnson and Chopra take on each other.
Chopra said a ball from part-timer Hanuma Vihari had taken off which had dismissed a well-settled Marcus Harris.
Mitchell Johnson took to Twitter to share his displeasure at the rating of ICC. He wrote, “Nothing wrong with it. It was exciting to watch a contest between bat and ball for a change and not these dull flat tracks being served up constantly. I’d actually be interested in knowing what a good pitch is? Hope for another exciting test at the MCG”.

Vihari bowled a bouncer on the ‘first day’ to dismiss a well set Harris. I rest my case ?? https://t.co/gELNtmLUuI

You spoke of natural deterioration that leads to variable bounce. That ball was a reflection of variable bounce on the first day. Not dangerous then. But yes…that Shami spell on day four was close to dangerous….felt that player safety was in question. Therefore the rating. https://t.co/AlE4Me9Iko

Too late in Melbourne..just landed…body clock still set on Perth timings. Chanced upon your observation somehow…enough reasons for commenting to you directly? ☺️?✌️Merry Christmas in advance…see you on the Boxing Day. Hopefully MCG wont be a road like last year… ?
