Australia vs India 2018: Adam Gilchrist Backs Virat Kohli to Have Another Fantastic Test Series

Former Australia cricketer, Adam Gilchrist has backed India skipper Virat Kohli to have another strong series Down Under, when the visitors clash in a four-match Test series against Australia.
Meanwhile, Kohli had a marvelous tour last time in 2014, where he scored four centuries. He is also the most successful Indian batsmen in Australia with five hundred to his name. Virat Kohli has already started showing signs with his match-winning half-century in the third T20I at Sydney.
Adam Gilchrist while speaking to NDTV, admitted that it would be surprising if Kohli fails to replicate his show from 2014. The former wicket-keeper recently met the India skipper and stated that he looked more confident.

“Going ahead into the Test series, I expect Virat Kohli will have another imperious outing like he did in 2014. I have spoken with him these last few days, seen his confidence, and seeing the way he batted in Sydney, I will be very surprised if he doesn’t,” Gilchrist said.
Other batsmen need to support Virat Kohli
The 47-year-old also thinks the other Indian batsmen need to back him if India wants to succeed in Australia. He also added that the batsmen need to provide a good total for the bowlers to defend or bowl Australia twice.

“The key for India winning this series though will be batsmen around him. Will they support him enough to allow India to get enough runs and give their good bowling attack enough opportunity to defend or even bowl Australia twice in a Test?” he concluded.
The four-match Border Gavaskar Test series commences from December 6 at Adelaide. India will be keen to offer a good show after their poor turnout in South Africa and England.
