Former domestic stalwart Aakash Chopra predicted that Australia would win the ongoing second Test of the four-match Test series at the Perth stadium. However, the Aussies had scored 326 runs in the first innings including three half-centuries.

Meanwhile, Australia reached 277 for six at stumps on the first day of the second Test in Perth. Marcus Harris (70), Travis Head (58) and Aaron Finch (50) notched up half-centuries while Shaun Marsh scored 45. On the other hand, Ishant Sharma and Hanuma Vihari bagged two wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav got one wicket each.

At the start of the second day, Australia added 49 runs in the first session. The tall and lanky pacer Ishant Sharma rattled the line-up by picking up another two wickets while Bumrah and Yadav shared one each. India once again struggled with their opening pair as they could not provide runs with their bat. Murali Vijay who failed to put up a great show continued his poor form to get out for a duck. Meanwhile, the visitors went to lunch at six for one losing Vijay at the stroke of lunch.

Later, his partner KL Rahul could not impose pressure on the hosts as he got out scoring two runs. Rahul stayed rooted in the crease, and his feet hardly moved to compensate for the line and the length.

Moreover, Aakash Chopra previously said that the hosts had the best chance to win the second game. However, the seamers had shown their quality bowling attack as they picked two early wickets of Vijay and Rahul. The 41-year-old also added that visitors need to play exceptionally well to save the match.

“I said that Australia will win this game  On a serious note…taller Aussie seamers…crack opening up already. India need a miracle to salvage this. Me feels. #ausvind #7cricket” Aakash Chopra tweeted.
