The second Test match in Perth has been an interesting one so far. Batsman Travis Head carried on the momentum provided by the two openers. Earlier, Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris hit respective fifties to put the hosts on top. A 100-plus run stand for the first wicket added miles to the feet of the Indian bowlers. Meanwhile, the visitors though made a strong comeback into the game, as part-timer Hanuma Vihari provided a crucial breakthrough.

Travis Head hits yet another fifty

The wicket was doing a bit everytime the ball hit the deck hard. Head played 80 deliveries and hit six boundaries. Though he looked a little restless towards against the pacers, he tried hitting almost everything that came his way; and eventually, Travis Head sent one down the throat of Mohammed Shami. Meanwhile, pacer Ishant Sharma scalped the big wicket just when Australia crawled back in the game.

However, Ishant bowled a wide one and Head couldn’t resist the temptation. He went for the shot and flew it down to Shami. The dismissal reduced the hosts to 251/6.

An unbeaten Head would have boosted Australia’s confidence, as they will look to score as many as possible before the cracks get exposed. Also, in-form batsman looked in good touch and played with a straight bat most often. He cut the close one hard and nagged a few past the square leg on occasions. He along with Shaun Marsh steadied the Australian ship after India tilted the game in their favour.

India goes in with four pacers

Meanwhile, India went in with four seamers, as they added Umesh Yadav in the squad. The visitors had to part with Ravi Ashwin and Rohit Sharma. Both the cricketers sustained injuries ahead of the game. The hosts will look to play the bounce well and avoid cutting it close.

Anything around 350 will keep them in the game considering the Indians are going to come hard with the in-form batters and the depth they carry.
