There are few situations in real life, which feels really awkward to experience in person. Perhaps, the situation of KL Rahul is exactly the same at the moment. One side, he is pretty happy to see his best friend, Mayank Agarwal making debut for Indian National Cricket Team but on the other side, KL Rahul is the one, who his friend replaced in the team.

The dup always shared a great rapport between them. They hail from the same state and played years together for Karnataka in the domestic tournaments. Both have been splendid for their state team during their times for Karnataka.

However, KL Rahul kept everything aside and wished all the best for his future endeavours. He is very proud of what Mayank Agarwal achieved on the day 1 of the Boxing Day Test.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Seeing my Best Friend getting his cap and debuting for the Country makes me so Happy and Proud today. Upwards and Onwards, my brother, you’re just getting started Monkus.”

On Wednesday, Mayank Agarwal became the first Indian opener to make his debut at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Boxing Day in the ongoing third Test against Australia on Wednesday. He is India’s 295th player to debut in Test cricket as he got the cap just a few minutes before the match started at the MCG.

Marking the occasion, the batsman scored a half-century in his debut innings and became the highest run scorer on debut in Australia. Unfortunately, he was dismissed at the stroke of Tea on 76 as he nudged a delivery down the leg side to Tim Paine behind the stumps.

Earlier, Mayank Agarwal had a splendid domestic season in 2017-18 when he finished as the highest run scorer, getting 1,160 runs in 8 games. Later, he followed it up with a 723-runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy that saw him creating the record for the most runs in a domestic season by a player across all formats (2,141).
