Australia vs India 2018: Mumbai Indians Delete Tweet as Rohit Sharma Falters at Adelaide

At times a bit raucous, Rohit Sharma, who earned up his maiden Test call against the Windies in 2013 which coincidentally was also the farewell series for the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, has had a rough time while donning the whites in general. As of now, he had a mixed run in Australia and his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians’ latest tweet backfired before the Twitteratis took a dig at the Mumbai batsman.
Moreover, Rohit had started his Test career on an incredible note scoring his maiden Test century in the debut game. He also slammed his second century in the second game of the series against the Windies.
Of those two centuries, he couldn’t impress the selectors as he should’ve to cement his place. Since there on, it has been five years now. Undoubtedly, it is an embarrassing situation for the right-handed batsman Rohit, who has three double centuries in One-day Internationals (ODIs), four centuries in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) as well as a triple-century in the First-class cricket.

Moreover, the 30-year-old could not show his temperament in the Test fold. He was also dropped from the side earlier this year for his poor performance in South Africa. Also, he missed the home series against Afghanistan followed by another away series against England then again a home series against the Windies.
Furthermore, he had shown some appetite in the white-ball cricket. The Mumbai-bound batsman had led the Indian team in the Asia Cup 2018 where he scored most number of runs and helped the Men in Blue to win the tournament. His recent show in white-ball format helped him return into the Test side.

In addition, Rohit started off quite well in the first innings of the first Test against Australia at Adelaide. He had hit two fours and three sixes during his 37-run knock.
Rohit Sharma has a knack of playing longer innings:
However, his stroke-making choice forced him to play a rash shot, and he eventually got dismissed. And his miserable run in the most extended format of the game continued in the second innings too.
Rohit, who came into bat after Cheteshwar Pujara got out after a fine knock which saw India on the top. Rohit needed to support Ajinkya Rahane. However, he failed to do so and made his way to the pavilion after scoring just a solitary run.
