India’s gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is happy to be contributing to the team’s success. Bumrah scalped his best bowling figures as he took 6-33 in the first innings and then backed with another three wickets in the second. Consequently, Bumrah took nine wickets in the game to be adjudged the Man of the Match.

In fact, Jasprit Bumrah made his Test debut in South Africa early in the year. Since then, the talented bowler has taken some giant strides in the red ball version. Bumrah is happy to be playing the pristine form of the game and to come up with such match-winning performances adds a cherry to his cake.

Jasprit Bumrah has been right on the money with his bowling and there is always a whiff of a wicket when he comes to bowl. Bumrah hits the right length and asks the difficult questions from the batsmen.

Jasprit Bumrah said while talking in the post-match presentation, “It is a great feeling. Be it the Boxing day, be it the any other day, I always wanted to play Test cricket and I made my debut against South Africa in January this year. I made my (ODI) debut against Australia in 2016, so to play Test cricket here was a big deal for me. I am really happy to contribute to the team’s success”.

The new rockstar of the Indian bowling said he tries to focus on his consistency. Subsequently, the results have been palpable for the extra yards that Bumrah has put into his bowling.

“My aim is to always focus on consistency. We train very hard and we are used to bowling a lot of overs in Ranji Cricket, so the body is doing well. My focus is on the next Test now. It was always a dream to play Test cricket and I was really happy when I debuted in South Africa. I started learning slowly, in England it was a different experience. Coming to Australia has been a different experience as well. The start has been good, and hopefully, I will keep getting better”.

Bumrah hits the bullseye with his bowling and he is patient in his approach. He is not someone who gets carried away and tries to bowl in the channel. The Prodigy bowler hits the corridor of uncertainty and his accurate line and length make the job difficult for the batsmen. In fact, the slower yorker ball that he bowled to flummox Shaun Marsh will always be remembered.

Bumrah would have dreamt of such a solid start to the multi-day format and he is living his dream. Hence, the paceman will like to continue in a similar fashion.

The fourth and final Test match will take place at Sydney from January 3.
