Australia vs India 2018: Ricky Ponting Inducted Into ICC Hall Of Fame

Yet another iconic player finds a place in the ICC Hall of Fame. The legendary skipper and also one of the finest batsmen cricket has ever witnessed, Ricky Ponting is embedded into the chart that has glorious names written on it. Earlier, they announced the news that Ponting will be the 25th Australian cricketer to make his way.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, during the third Test match at MCG, Ricky Ponting was given the official lap of honour at the tea break. It was a beautiful and proud moment for Ponting, as there were thousands of fans were present in the venue alongside his family.

ICC started the honours in 2009 in association with Federation of International Cricketers’ Association (FICA). There were 55 initial inductees. With Dravid, Ponting, and Taylor, there are currently 87 members in the prestigious group.

Speaking of the honour, Ricky Ponting expressed his gratitude for recognising him to present in the great chart. Further, he added saying that he is very proud of the achievement and quoted that he enjoyed every moment of his cricketing career.

Ricky Ponting has set quite a few records for the skipper during his tenure and also scored runs consistently across the formats. He went on thank all his teammates, coaches and the special people, who are behind his success.
“I feel deeply honoured to be recognised by the ICC in this way. I loved every moment of my journey as a player. And I am so very proud of the team and personal achievements along the way. These would not have been possible without the help of so many people. Including my teammates, coaches and support staff that played such an integral part in my playing career,” he added.
Well, it was quite a proud achievement for Ricky Ponting. And also, he is a very much deserving candidate to take the honour.
