The best players in the world bring their best to the table in the toughest of the conditions. The Perth pitch is not a cakewalk track and Virat Kohli has once again proven that why he is the best in the business. Kohli scored his 25th Test hundred and his sixth on the Australian soil. The Indian captain batted at the top of his game and brought his best when it mattered the most.
Surprisingly, Kohli had a quiet first Test match where he had scored only 37 runs. However, Kohli was at his usual best at the new Optus stadium of Perth. Kohli had scored 692 runs on the previous tour of Australia where he didn’t put a foot wrong. Consequently, the Indian captain has begun the 2018-19 tour on a high.
Virat Kohli shows his class.
In fact, it was crucial for the Indian team that Kohli bats at the top of his prowess as the talisman holds the key for the Indian team. India was tottering at one stage as they had lost three wickets for 82 runs. In fact, they had lost both their openers cheaply. However, Pujara and Kohli added 74 runs partnership to steady the ship.
Furthermore, Ajinkya Rahane and Kohli added 91 runs for the fourth wicket to keep India in the game. On the other hand, Kohli had put on an exhibition of some fine drives in his majestic knock.
Kohli was only troubled by one spell of Pat Cummins. However, the Indian captain batted without any trouble apart from Cummins.
Kohli has been in fine form in all the three forms of the game and once again has come up with the best. The Indian captain will like to make a big one and take his side into a lead.
