The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has become the first captain to savour success in England, South Africa and Australia. In fact, all the three wins in the aforementioned countries have come in 2018. India won the thumping first Test match against Australia by 31 runs as this was their third narrowest win in terms of runs. India had won the third Test match against South Africa at Johannesburg whereas they won the third against England at Trent Bridge.

Consequently, Virat Kohli completed his win troika with a fine win in Adelaide. In fact, India is the first visiting team to win a Test match in England, South Africa and Australia in the same calendar year.

It was a humdinger contest.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is a delighted captain after getting off to a good start on the tour Down Under. After all, it is well said that well begun is half job done.

India had to work hard for their win on the final day of the first match. Australia needed 219 runs on the final day and India required another six wickets. However, the Australian tail came up with a solid performance as the visitors must have had their hearts in their mouth.

Nathan Lyon gave a run for the money to the Indian bowlers as the right-hander scored a valiant knock of 38 runs from 47 balls. Both Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc added crucial 28 runs to help Australia get in close proximity to the target.

However, Indian bowlers were able to keep their calm as they got the better off the Australian tail with 31 runs left in the bag. Consequently, Virat Kohli would be proud of his boys after they won the first match.

The second Test match will take place from 14 December at Perth and the visitors will have impetus on their side.
