Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who had a rare failure in the first innings of the ongoing first Test against Australia at Adelaide, is in the era of registering the records across formats. Now, the right-handed batsman Kohli had achieved the milestone of completing 1,000 runs on Australian soil in the Test fold.

However, India had scored 250 runs in the first innings of the first Test against Australia. With the kick off of the gruelling Test series, everyone’s eyes were on Kohli after India lost their second wicket, but the 29-year-old couldn’t put up a great show in the middle. He only managed to score three runs in the first essay.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara was the lone warrior as he slammed his 16th Test century. He scored 123 runs to help India post 250 runs.

However, India takes a lead of 15 runs before starting off their second innings, and the opening duo in the form of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay added 63 runs for the first wicket.

Moreover, just after the departure of Rahul, Kohli walks into the pitch before achieving the feat of scoring 1,000 runs on Australian soil.

King Kohli achieves yet another feat:

As experienced campaigner Nathan Lyon bowled the third delivery of the 32nd over, Kohli pushed it through the backward square leg region to achieve the milestone while scampering for a single.

The batsman with an intent Kohli, also, became the fastest Indian batsman to score 1,000 runs in Australia only to join an elite club. Kohli is now only the fourth Indian to achieve this milestone after Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid.

Before the beginning of the ongoing Test series, Kohli scored 992 runs from eight Tests Down Under. Interestingly, even some of Australia’s big names, including Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Matthew Hayden, Allan Border, and Steve Smith required off more than 10 innings to reach 1,000 Test runs at home.

Already, Kohli is a brand. He has been in the limelight since joining the Team India way back in 2008.

Previously, he also became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs in One-day International (ODI) cricket. He had achieved the milestone during the tournament against the Windies in October 2018.
