The Perth pitch is known to be the paciest and bouncy track in the world. However, now there is a new stadium in Perth where the second Test match between Australia and India will take place from 14 December. Meanwhile, the Pitch Curator of the WACA has confirmed that track is going to have pace and bounce, as has been the norm in Perth.

Thus, the fast bowlers will come into action. Australian pitches are known for their bounce and the new Perth Stadium which has a capacity of 60,000 people will stay true to the same. Meanwhile, the pitch curator Brett Sipthorpe confirmed that there would not be much help for the spinners.

No help for spinners.

“The mandate is for pace and bounce, and that’s what I’ll be attempting to achieve,” Sipthorpe said as quoted by Sydney Morning Herald.

“I can’t imagine it being great for spinners to be honest. We’ll have plenty of grass on it.

“A good spinner will take wickets, but it certainly won’t be something that spinners will relish when they get here.”

The pitch conditions are going to play a key role in the outcome of the series. India has improved their fast bowling stocks and would be confident of once delivering the goods in the Australian conditions. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to note how the new WACA pitch will behave over the course of five days.

On the other hand, Australia also has a potent bowling line-up in Mithcell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. Thus, the host’s bowlers will look to make the most of their known conditions.

The first Test match will take place at Adelaide from 6 December. Subsequently, the second match will take place at the new Perth stadium from December 14.
