Australia had a perfect start when their vice-captain Josh Hazlewood got the better off India’s opener, KL Rahul. The stylish right-hander had a tentative approach. The Indian opener was fishing at the ball wide outside the off stump and Aaron Finch took a good catch at third slip. Thus, the flamboyant batsman continued his dismal form going. In fact, Rahul had scored a good knock of 62 in the second innings of the warm-up game.

However, he was not able to continue with the same. Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood asked the right questions in his first over. Hazlewood got his length in the corridor of uncertainty and had a beautiful set-up for Rahul. The right-hander fast bowler got the ball to move away.

Meanwhile, India’s captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. India went with Rohit Sharma ahead of Hanuma Vihari in the side. Thus, India went with a heavy batting unit as they will be playing with four bowlers. On the other hand, Australia had already announced its playing XI yesterday.

Consequently, it is now up to Murali Vijay and Chesteshwar Pujara to take India’s innings forward. Indian batsmen will like to respect the conditions as there is a good bounce on the Adelaide pitch.

Indian batsmen will like to deliver the goods as their form has let the team down on the last two foreign tours. Virat Kohli has done the lion’s share of scoring and other batters will like to come to the party.

On the other hand, India’s bowling has ticked the right boxes and the batsmen will need to pull up their socks. Hence, other batsmen must contribute to the team’s success.
