Pat Cummins who had troubled Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Day two was finally able to take out the big fish. Cummins bowled a fuller delivery to Virat Kohli and the talisman right-hander went for the big drive through the off-side. However, Kohli could only manage a thick outside edge which was nicely taken by Peter Handscomb who dived to his right to take a good low catch at second slip.

In fact, Handscomb claimed the catch and was confident that he had got his fingers underneath the ball. However, the standing umpire Kumar Dharmasena sent the decision to the third umpire after giving the soft signal as out.

It was a big wicket for Australia.

The third umpire Nigel Llong was convinced that Handscomb has taken a clean catch and gave the decision in favour of the hosts. Thus, it was a big wicket as Kohli was looking in ominous form and was taking the game away from Australia.

Kohli scored a brilliant 123 which is his 25th Test hundred and his sixth Test ton against Australia. The Indian captain smashed 13 fours and one six in his majestic knock as he batted at the top of his game.

Meanwhile, it is not an easy track to bat and Kohli brought his best to the table. Hence, Kohli once again proved his mettle to show why he is the best in the business.

Furthermore, Australia also got the better off Mohammed Shami who was promoted ahead of Ishant Sharma. India is currently batting at 252-7 and trail by 74 runs to Australia first innings score of 326 runs.
