On Saturday, the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) saw a couple of great finishes. First up, it was AB de Villiers who smashed a scintillating half-century to hand RCB their 6th win of the season. Next, it was Axar Patel at Sharjah who brought another desert storm as he smashed 21 runs off 5 balls in the final over to hand Delhi Capitals their 7th win of the season.

However, the Axar Patel was last known by cricket fans for getting smoked in the final over by MS Dhoni as the former Indian skipper smashed Axar for 23 runs in the final over. It was in IPL 2016 when MS Dhoni was representing the Rising Pune Supergiants as Chennai Super Kings were banned from the tournament for a couple of years owing to the fixing charges.

In a game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), MS Dhoni had to finish the game and in the last over, 23 runs were required. Dhoni played a scintillating knock as he thrashed Axar Patel, who was then representing Punjab, in the final over to hand a famous win to Pune. On Saturday, Axar played a similar knock against CSK and now fans believe Axar has taken his revenge on MS Dhoni.

This was CSK’s 6th loss in their 9th game of the tournament and now their hope for a playoff spot seems to fade away. DC, on the other hand, have been in glowing form ever since the inception of the tournament this year and their berth in the IPL 2020 playoffs looks secured now.
