Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni is facing the heat for his conduct during the just-concluded clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The game ended on a controversial note with umpire Paul Reiffel surprisingly not calling a delivery wide although it was over the tramline.
The incident took place in the 19th over of SRH’s chase when the match was finely poised. After collecting 19 runs from the 18th over, SRH had scored three from the first ball of the 19th over when they needed 27 runs from the last two overs. The first ball of the over was hit for a two by Rashid Khan before Shardul Thakur bowled a wide.

The following delivery looked like a wide too but Reiffel did not call it. At first, it looked like he would call it a wide as he had his hands half out. However, he changed his mind at the last moment after seeing an angry MS Dhoni protesting and decided against calling it a wide. MS Dhoni was indeed acting in an animated manner and it did play a part in the umpire’s decision.
But in the end, CSK won the game comfortably. The three-time champions beat SRH by 20 runs to get back to winning ways and end their two-match losing streak. The win was CSK’s third of the season. With three wins from eight games, they are currently at sixth spot.

Batting first, they posted 167 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Shane Watson top-scored for them with 42 while Ambati Rayudu scored 41. In reply, SRH finished their innings on 147 for 8. Kane Williamson scored a fighting fifty but lack of support from the other end meant his knock went in vain.
Fans furious with MS Dhoni:
MS Dhoni might be happy with the result but the fans are not at all happy with his conduct in the match. Soon after the game ended, the fans took to Twitter to slam him for the way he acted in the 19th over that made the umpire change his mind. Some fans even went as far as saying that MS Dhoni bullied the umpire.
Here are some of the reactions:

2019 – MS Dhoni walking out to argue with the umpires.
2020 – MS Dhoni giving in a stare and the umpire drops his hands.Thala and umpires – you can write a book about it. h<!---->t<!---->t<!---->p<!---->s<!---->:<!---->/<!---->/<!---->t<!---->.<!---->c<!---->o<!---->/<!---->t<!---->b<!---->g<!---->r<!---->V<!---->O<!---->F<!---->w<!---->5<!---->e

That was not cricket from @<!---->m<!---->s<!---->d<!---->h<!---->o<!---->n<!---->i ,you can’t put pressure on the umpire like that and also umpire should have gone with his decision, dhoni is not bigger than the game of cricket. Last yr he came from outside to force the umpire to give it no ball, now forced to not give it a wide

Storm the pitch when umpire does something wrong. Stare at the umpire angrily when he is about to do something right.

No point blaming just Indian umpires if Paul Reiffel, an elite panel ump, a former world cup winner with 127 international caps changes his mind when he sees Dhoni is pissed.
