Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott and player Azmatullah Omarzai were penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the code of conduct in the second match of the T20I series against Bangladesh in Sylhet.
Both Jonathan Trott and Azmatullah Omarzai were docked 15% of their match fees for their antics on the field. The head coach was penalised for expressing his discomfort over the umpire’s inspection after the rain played the spoilsport in the game. He was unhappy after the officials informed him that there would be a further delay in resumption.

On the other hand, Azmatullah Omarzai was giving a harsh send-off to Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy after dismissing him. He breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which is related to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
Apart from the fines Jonathan Trott and Azmatullah Omarzai were given one demerit point. The duo accepted the sanctions which were imposed by match referee Neeyamur Rashid and there was no need for a formal hearing.
