Bangladesh Announces 14-Man Squad for Windies T20Is, Shakib Al Hasan to Lead

Ahead of the conclusion of final ODI of the series, Bangladesh announced their 14-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20Is against Windies. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan was asked to lead the side again, despite injury concerns. However, Bangladesh retained most of their players from the ongoing ODI series, as Liton Das will take the opening role alongside Tamim Iqbal. Meanwhile, Soumya Sarkar is also on the team sheet while Mahmudullah Riyad will play as Shakib’s deputy.

Mohammad Mithun, Saifuddin find a place –

Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun and Ariful Haque are the other batsmen to be named on the list. Coming to the bowling section, Bangladesh named four fast bowlers and a couple of spinners to assist Shakib Al Hasan.

Speaking of Mohammad Mithun and Saifuddin selection, BCB chief selector quoted saying “We have included Mithun as we need a batsman down the order. We opted for Saifuddin, as the team management demanded an all-rounder, an out-and-out pace bowler, and that is the reason Abu Jayed had to make way for Saifuddin.”

Moreover, Mehidy Hasan and Nazmul Islam will take the spinner roles. Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hossain will lead the pace attack. And also, Mohammad Saifuddin and Abu Hider Rony are the other fast bowlers to be named on the list.

Meanwhile, the three-match series is scheduled to start on December 17th at Sylhet International Stadium. It will be followed by the two games at Shere Bangla National Stadium on 20th and 22nd of December.
