Now, I know how to bat in the middle overs – Manish Pandey

Speaking of his own game, Pandey stated he used to play it like a Twenty20 in One-day International game during middle overs.

Meanwhile, he expressed his happiness for batting well in the recently concluded quadrangular series. He added that it was a very pleasing effort for himself guiding the team to victory by batting at number four position.

“If you have runs under your belt before a selection, it obviously gives you confidence,” said Manish. “I feel quite good about the way I played. I had clear plans in my head and in the four matches, I pretty much executed all of those. So very happy,” The Hindu quoted Pandey as saying.

“Batting at No.4 gave me a lot of time. When I was 19 and 20 I didn’t know how to bat in a one-day game. I thought it was very similar to T20 where I used to bat a lot. Now after playing for so many years, I know how to bat through the middle overs, rotate the strike and take chances when I have to,” Pandey said.

Manish Pandey scored 306 runs in Quadrangular series 2018 without being dismissed:

The classy Karnataka batsman made the recently concluded series his own. He remained unbeaten throughout the tourney with a hundred and two fifties. He stood tall for his team during the chases to steer the team to victory ropes.

The other teams in the tournament came in the form of India A, Australia A and South Africa A.
