In the inaugural Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League, Beckenham Cricket Club (BCC) on Tuesday (July 24) was skittled out for mere 18 runs. In fact, the opposition Bexley Cricket Club (BCC) was able to chase down the total in just 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, Beckenham Cricket Club failed to achieve any impetus as they lost all their wickets in just 49 minutes.
Furthermore, this is the lowest total in the history of 152 years of Beckenham’s existence.
Interestingly, the Club decided to bat first after winning the toss on a neutral ground. Therefore, this paltry performance has evoked a debate as the Club had experienced County as well as International players.
In fact, five batsmen failed to trouble the scorers as they got dismissed for a duck. Alexander Senn (4), William MacVicar (4), Calum Lennox (4), Johan Malcolm (1), Asad Ali (1) and Junaid Nadir (1) were the only to attain single-digit scores. Interestingly, no batter got a double-digit score. Furthermore, Bexley CC conceded three extras.
Therefore, the Beckenham Cricket Club batting order collapsed like a house of cards.
Bexley’s Jason Benn scalped four wickets by giving 12 runs. Furthermore, Calum Macleod was the chief destroyer of the Beckenham batting line-up. He took six wickets by conceding only five runs.
In response to Beckenham poor show with the bat, Bexley chased down the target in just 3.3 overs as they got over the line in only 12 minutes.
