As far as IPL 2020 is concerned, there remains a cloud of uncertainty over his participation. Andrew Mcdonald, who is the coach of Rajasthan Royals, stated they are ready to give Ben Stokes as much time he needs and respect their privacy. Stokes would arguably be critical to Royals’ chances and could be amongst the four first-choice overseas players alongside captain Steve Smith, Jofra Archer, and Jos Buttler.

Stokes’ first IPL stint was in 2017, playing for Rising Pune Supergiants and earned the player of the tournament award. He made 316 runs and took 12 wickets in 12 games. Having joined the Rajasthan Royals in 2018, the 29-year old’s form has drastically dipped. In 13 matches in 2018, he made 196 runs followed by 123 the next year. Hence, the New Zealand-born all-rounder would be keen to put on some impactful performances.
