For the first time, a South Africa player scored a One-Day double century during a Blind Cricket tournament organised by Cricket South Africa in Pretoria on Tuesday. Fredrik Boer slammed a sensational 205 for Boland in their last round-robin game against the Free Staters.

Boer faced just 78 deliveries and kept a strike rate of 263. His exceptional knock studded with 39 fours and four sixes; it amounts to 180 runs in boundaries which is indeed a massive percentage of runs scored in boundaries. However, Boer smashed 124 runs towards the off side while 78 of them came within the midwicket range.

It was Shepherd Mangxaba, who opened the innings with Boer and smashed an unbeaten 97 off 53 deliveries. The partnership lasted until the final ball of the innings when Boer got dismissed. However, none of the bowlers managed to bag his wicket, as he ran himself out after missing the first three deliveries of the final over.

South Africa records its first limited-overs double ton

Boland posted a massive total of 319/1. It proved to be a target way too much for Free Staters who could only manage to score 155/6 in their allotted 20 overs. It was an utterly dominant performance by Boland.

It is indeed a great moment for a disabled person who cannot even see the ball properly go onto produce an innings of substance. The innings will surely make him a sensation in the coming years, especially in blind cricket.
