It has been a terrifying year for the discarded Australia opening batsman, David Warner, and his wife, Candice.
Even after meeting with such a lean patch, the duo stayed strong and gave credits to their upbringings for such brawniness. In a candid chat with The Telegraph, the 33-year old Candice shared her story during turbulent times.
“We grew up in Maroubra, and in Maroubra it’s tough,” Candice told the paper on Saturday.
She said the background working class of her husband in Sydney helped them to tackle the pressure.
”You just move on. You’re working class, you deal with it, and you move on. Life’s too short, life’s too precious to dwell on stuff and beat yourself up about it,” she said.
Noteworthy, David Warned faced suspension of one year after being found as a chief plotter of ‘Sandpaper gate’ in South Africa in March early this year. Not only him, former Australia captain Steven Smith and opening batsman Cameron Bancroft also came under the hammer.
Background of David Warner and Candice
David Warner grew up in Matraville while his wife grew up in Maroubra. Maroubra is a place on the beach-side suburb in eastern suburbs while as Matraville lies close to the same area.
In the meantime, Candice disclosed before the unfortunate incident that hovered after the apology from David Warner. The lady said that she had miscarried just after a week when her husband apologized for the ball-tampering controversy.
‘‘I was bleeding. We knew I was miscarrying. We held one another and cried,” Candice told the magazine.
”The miscarriage was a tragic consequence, a heartbreaking end to a horror tour.”
David Warner married Candice in 2015, and the family possesses two daughters, Indi Rae and three-year-old Ivy Mae.
