The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to change the captain’s-coach’s meet.
They will likely advance the date on February 28. Meanwhile, the meeting aims for the smooth running of the domestic calendar.
Also, the newly appointed General Manager of operations has decided to advance the date. The meeting will take place a day after the Vijay Hazare Trophy final.
Reason for the advance:
The meeting usually takes place after the culmination of Indian Premier League (IPL). This time the meeting will take place especially with two major tournaments Deodhar Trophy and Irani Trophy left to play.
“The remaining two tournaments are played between teams picked by the senior selection committee, barring the Ranji champions who play the Irani Cup. It’s a good time to discuss the problems as they are fresh in mind,” a top BCCI official said to TOI.
Further, the calendar changed a few times, starting with the accommodation of Duleep Trophy. Vijay Hazare Trophy’s schedule also witnessed a shuffling after it got underway.
Meanwhile, chairman of selectors MSK Prasad also got the invitation to attend the meeting.
