Finally, the green signal arrives for the Virat Kohli’s request for stretching the Wags time in overseas tours. The meeting that happened between the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the other key officials was successful as they came up with a new policy to allow spouses or girlfriends of the cricketers to stay with the team.

Recently, Virat Kohli raised his concern to allow the families of the cricketers, especially, when the series length is quite long. Though the reports suggest it is tough to make the changes in policy, CoA officials made it happen to avoid negativity from the players.

Wags can travel after the initial 10 days of the tour:

So, the latest policy reads the Spouses or the girlfriends of the cricketers can now visit them after the initial ten days of the tour. They can also stay alongside the team for the remaining part of the tour as well.

It is quite surprising how the policies changes. Earlier, BCCI hadn’t allowed any family members to make it into the dressing room. However, after some serious requests from the staff and the players, they allowed them to stay for two weeks.

Meanwhile, in the latest policy, they made it more in favor of the touring team. However, it would be interesting to see how this new policy would make an impact on the player’s performances.

The latest decision would surely please Virat Kohli and Co. With the Australian tour on the cards, which is followed by the ICC World Cup 2019, the new rules might boost the individuals, who badly need their spouses to be with them.

So, the debate is finally over as the officials have declared their decision. It would be interesting to see whether they apply the same rules during the ICC World Cup 2019 or not.
