The Committee of Administrators (CoA) who are running the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will review India’s poor performance in the Rainbow nation after the conclusion of the tour.

India is currently 0-2 down in the three-match series and faces the prospect of yet another whitewash in the overseas conditions. The 3rd and the final Test will begin on Wednesday at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

“We will review the performance after getting the full report from the team manager. Nothing can be done now as the players and officials are in South Africa,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying during a COA meeting that took place on Tuesday.

CoA chief Vinod Rai, Diana Edulji, and BCCI CEO Rahul Johri were present during the meeting. However, not a single office bearer including the likes of CK Khanna and acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary was not invited to the meeting.

The Indian team has received severe criticism following twin defeats at Cape Town and Centurion. Some of the former Indian players felt the team was underprepared coming to South Africa and a home series against Sri Lanka just before the tour of South Africa wasn’t the ideal preparation for the series.

Harbhajan Singh felt hosting Sri Lanka was not the right thing for India. Even Team India head coach Ravi Shastri admitted ten more days would have been ideal for India’s preparation in the rainbow nation. However, despite a poor performance, Ravi Shastri defended the team citing it to be their first real overseas assignment. The next CoA meeting is slated to take place after the hearing of the Supreme Court on January 29.
