Ahead of another edition of the most exhilarating cricket leagues of them all, all the franchises have announced their retained and released list of players. The auction of the IPL 2020 is slated to take place on the 19th of December in Kolkata.

Of the many trades that took place between the franchises, Ajinkya Rahane moved his base from Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals. Ravichandran Ashwin, who was the captain of Kings XI Punjab since the last two seasons got transferred to Delhi Capitals. The franchise owners have decided against retaining some big names from their squad.

After the announcement of the released and retained lists, Kings XI Punjab are the one left with the maximum amount in their purse. The Punjab-based team had to let go of some stalwarts including David Miller, Andrew Tye, Sam Curran, and Varun Chakravarthy. They have INR 42.70 crore remaining in their purse.

Runners-up of the last season Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained most of their core unit. Royal Challengers Bangalore, who triggered a revamp of their coaching staff earlier also released a bulk of players from their set up and are left with INR 27.90 crore.
