The Caribean Premier League (CPL 2018) has written itself into the history book by becoming the first-ever Twenty20 league to collaborate with micro-blogging website Twitter. They are streaming all the matches live on such social media platform.
For the first time in the history, fans across 54 countries will be able to watch the live streaming of the T20 game. Moreover, they have also added the clips of the previously held match – to allow spectators to relive the golden moments.
Twitter collaborates with CPL:
Meanwhile, they also joined the hands with the big brand Hero Moto-Corp who will be delivering 150 clips for Indian fans to enjoy the streaming.
However, it was a brilliant move as Indians follow CPL closely like any another.
Speaking of the collaboration, Aneesh Madani, who’s the Head of SportsPartnerships, Asia Pacific, Twitter said they are thrilled to bring the live cricket to 54 countries. He also explained the highlights of being united with the CPL 2018.
Commenting on the partnership, Madani said, “The global, public conversation around cricket happens on Twitter and we’re thrilled to team up with CPL. To add live-streamed cricket to that experience for fans in 54 countries.”
“Together, we’re excited to offer cricket fans a unique experience. To take in the games, highlight video clips and the conversation, all in one place on Twitter,” he added as per the IANS inputs.
As Tournament progresses:
The biggest festival of sport, CPL 2018 already started the things in a flashy manner. The tourney is already six-match old. So far, all the teams have participated actively apart from Barbados Tridents who are yet to play a game.
Dwayne Bravo-led Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) are leading the points table with one victory in two games. Shoaib Malik-led Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs won one each game.
Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots alongside St Lucia Stars are struggling with a loss each in their single game. Also, Andre Russell’s century and a hat-trick in the same match lit up the Carribean league.
