CPL 2018: Guyana Amazon Warriors Rout Jamaica Tallawahs; Tops Points Table

Jamaica Tallawahs met with a sudden slump as Guyana Amazon Warriors jumps to the top of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2018) points table with a 71-run comprehensive victory. It was the 11th match of the Caribbean tournament that took place in Lauderhill, Florida.
Guyana while batting first lost their opening for just 13 runs as Samuel Badree provided the first breakthrough. Chadwick Walton was the first man to go who scored only eight runs.
Shimron Hetmyer once again scored brilliant innings from Guyana as he scored 100 off 49 deliveries. His ton includes 11 fours and five gigantic sixes.
Also, it followed the half-century from the new skipper of Guyana, Shoaib Malik, who scored 50 off 33 balls. The knock of Shoaib Malik includes a single four and four big sixes.
Jason Mohammed played a short cameo of 13 runs that helped Guyana to set a massive target of 210.
A summary of the chase
In reply to the total, Jamaica lost Kennar Lewis on the score of 16. However, Ross Taylor along with Glenn Phillips put a second-wicket partnership of 66 runs.
Ross Taylor was the second wicket to fall as Chris Green provided the second breakthrough.
Imran Tahir caught David Miller short of an inch from the crease as he ran him out after getting a promising start of 11 runs. Jamaica lost their third wicket on 102 in 10.2 overs.
Soon after the departure of David Miller, Jamaica lost their plot completely. Just inside 36 runs after the wicket of Miller, Jamaica lost its rest of the batsman. Amazon Warriors bowled Tallawahs on 138.
From the bowling perspective, leg-spinner Imran Tahir and Chris Green were wreckers in chief with the ball as both shared two-two wickets each. Hetmyer won the Man of the match title for his first ton.
