Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most consistent side in the IPL, continued to rule the roost for trolls as they slumped to 30/5 in the ongoing clash against Mumbai Indians. CSK have struggled throughout the season and this comes as one of their worst performance in the history of IPL.
CSK have never lost five wickets inside the powerplay but on Friday they were reduced to 21/5 inside six overs. Their top order-batsmen including the likes of Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu were sent back in single digit scores with Ruturaj Gaikwad and N Jagadeesan registering a duck each.
At the time of publishing the article, CSK were batting on 43/7 in nine over with captain MS Dhoni top scoring with 16. This performance comes after Dhoni had pointed out that the youngsters have shown no spark in IPL 2020 thus far.
CSK become laughing stock on social media
CSK fans were left in disappointed with their performance but many took the moment as an inspiration to create funny tweets. The tweets largely questioned their slump in form with many questioning the team selection and morale. Some also asked the Mumbai Indians bowlers to go easy on them.
