Kevin Pietersen expressed his surprise at the exceptional performance of the local players in IPL 2023 and drew an impressive parallel between Yuvraj Singh and Shivam Dube, the latest sensation of the Chennai Super Kings. Dube, who is also a left-handed all-rounder and a medium pacer, has not yet had the opportunity to bowl in the tournament, as per MS Dhoni’s game plan.

During Chennai Super Kings’ match against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, Shivam Dube scored his third fifty of the tournament. He played a crucial role in the run-chase of 203 by scoring 52 runs off 33 balls, but unfortunately, he did not receive enough support from his teammates, and as a result, the visitors were unable to secure a win.

Shivam Dube has represented India in 14 limited-overs matches, with only one appearance in the ODI format. He was considered a potential replacement for Hardik Pandya in the T20I format in 2019. However, Dube failed to make an impact in his 13 T20I matches, leading to him being excluded from the team since his last appearance in 2020.
