MS Dhoni seemed to be in a great mood as he touched down on the game and the performance from his team, the CSK skipper also touched down on his future and felt happy for the support from the crowd as he approaches the final phase of his career.
“Whatever said and done, last phase of my career, important to enjoy it. It feels good to be here. They have given a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me. You need time to pick his action (Pathirana). We have seen with Malinga – someone who has an awkward action and who is very consistent with line and length – it’s difficult to score off him. I was hesitant to bat second. Had the feeling there won’t be much dew. Overall the middle overs was the setup.”
MS Dhoni after the serious questions seemed to have a quibble as he joked about not getting the best catch award as he jestered with Harsha Bhogle. Dhoni also added that he can’t shy away from the fact that he is getting old.
“Fast bowlers bowled very well in the last few overs. I tell them the first preference is with you and then I will suggest. With Bravo it was not easy, but these guys just agree with my thoughts. Still they didn’t give me best catch. I felt it was a fantastic catch. Long time back I still remember one game – Rahul Dravid was keeping and he caught one like that. Definitely old, can’t shy away from that. When you get old, you draw on your experience and unless you are Sachin Pajji.”
A big win for the Super Kings as they consolidate their place in the top 3 with 8 points to their name in 6 games. The team currently stand in 3rd place on the points table and will be looking to carry their form in the coming games.
