Recently, Ricky Ponting matched Pat Cummins to Dale Steyn. He felt that both the fast bowlers will always keep the batsman on their toes when they ran with the ball. Though there is a bit of difference in the height, Ricky Ponting believes both the players got incredible ability to knock the batsman down.

Pat Cummins has always been a special performer for Australia across the formats. He always gives his best to the side whenever they lock horns in longer version of the game. Speaking of the same, Dale Steyn showered words of praise on Pat Cummins for his incredible athletism.

Pat Cummins is so fit – Dale Steyn

Dale Steyn quoted that it needs a great hard work and athletism to make things fall in place for the fast bowlers. He hailed Pat Cummins for bowling longer spells with the same Pace throughout the Test match. He also mentioned his workload in the World Cup, which was followed by Ashes series 2019.

“It takes supreme athletes to bowl fast for five days in five Test matches. That is a heavy workload. I think Cummins is amazing. He is so fit and so strong. He is ridiculous. And, he is one of my favorite bowlers right now. A heavy workload at the World Cup, straight into an Ashes series. It was probably a good thing to give the guys a Test match off here or there. In Australia’s case, it worked off,” Dale Steyn said.

David Warner is one of the best batters –

Further, he asked to show some respect to David Warner, who failed to make things fall in place in the red-ball cricket. South Africa’s fast bowler quoted that Warner is always a dangerous customer and can take the game away from the opposition in a quick time. He doesn’t want to write-off David Warner.

“He is one of the best batters I have ever bowled to. He puts you under pressure from ball one on day one of a Test match,” he said, adding Warner was one of the few men to post a century before lunch on day one of a Test. I think you have to take what he can give with you with what can happen,” Steyn said to Sydney Morning Herald.

”In this case, he has probably been found wanting with around the wicket to someone like Broady attacking that off stump. Sometimes that can happen. But he will get into Australia and he will find some form. He will be playing around his mates and around a home crowd and that can quickly change for him. I wouldn’t drop him at all – I would leave it as it is,” he added.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for David Warner in the near future. Meanwhile, Dale Steyn recently signed a contract for a franchise in Big Bash League.
