From past one and a half year, Dale Steyn has been battling with injuries to play for South Africa.

During this period he played just two Tests, where he was forced out of the field due to an injury.

The last two Test matches he has played, he hasn’t been able to play a complete role in it.

Now, a fit-again Steyn is eyeing his comeback in the Test side for the third Test against Australia.

Dale Steyn was ruled out during the first Test.

The right-arm pacer has recovered from the heel injury which he suffered during the first Test against India in January,

“I’m actually walking to my car right now to have a bowl. I can’t wait. It’s been a long time – shoulder, foot, all that kind of stuff. Watching the cricket yesterday and seeing some of the things that are happening on the field, I just want to get out there,” he told Radio KFM in South Africa.

Steyn suffered a shoulder injury during the first Test against Australia in November 2016.

Later, it turned out to be a broken shoulder, which ruled him out for a couple of months.

He also missed IPL 2017 and ICC Champions Trophy.

Steyn made his comeback to the side for the historical Test against Zimbabwe in December 2017 but missed the game due to viral infection.

He finally played his first Test after more than a year, but a tissue tear ruled him out.

Many questions were raised over his future as an international cricketer, but the South African team still looks up to him.

The retirement of Morne Morkel will leave South Africa in search of experience and Steyn is more than a need for them.

Should he perform well in the domestic games that he will play, Steyn can make a comeback to the side for the last two Test matches against Australia.

At present, the home side is trailing in the series by 1-0.

Australia posted a comfortable win over hosts to win the first Test by a margin of 118 runs.

The surprising defeat hit South Africa hard, and they look to prepare well for the second game.

The second Test of the series will start on March 9 at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth.

The third Test will be played in Cape Town, starting on March 22.

The fourth and final game of the Test series will be played in Johannesburg from March 30 to April 3.
