South African speedster, Dale Steyn, is all set to make an IPL comeback this year, as he has been included in the list of players who will be going under the hammer on January 27 and 28 in Bangalore during the IPL auction ceremony.

Steyn, on his comeback, has set his base price Rs. 1 Crore. The last time his name appeared in the auction in 2016, his base price was Rs 1.5 Crore. He was bought by Gujarat Lions but played only one game in 2016.

The same year, he suffered a broken shoulder during Perth Test against Australia in November, which just did not keep him out of IPL, but also out of international cricket for more than one year.

He recently made a comeback to international cricket when he got included for Test series against Zimbabwe and India. There too, he suffered an injury and is missing the ongoing series against India.

Steyn might not get a buyer this time, as his injury list might keep franchises away from him.

Behrendorff set for IPL debut?

The one match wonder, which one should call Jason Behrendorff – as of now – is all set for his maiden IPL auction appearance and there are high chances of him getting an IPL contract as well. Behrendorff has set his base price Rs 1 Crore and will be up for the grabs.

He drew limelight when he bowled a spell of 4-0-21-4 against India during Guwahati T20I last year and became a talk of the town soon. He dismissed top India players viz Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey, the main reason behind him becoming an overnight star.

Looking at the tendency of IPL franchises going behind these players for any price, Behrendorff is expected to draw a big amount in the auction. Though history has suggested that multi-crore players have disappointed most of the times but still, everytime, there is a player who goes for a big amount in the auction and disappoints.

In the past, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Pawan Negi, Tymal Mills, Andrew Flintoff and a few more have disappointed their franchises after going for huge amounts. It will be interesting to see what price will Behrendorff will be bought by a franchise.

Here is the list of players, who along with Steyn and Behendroff are in bracket of Rs 1 Crore –

Adam Zampa, Alex Hales, Andrew Tye, Ben Cutting, Carlos Brathwaite, Chris Jordan, Dale Steyn, Daniel Christian, Dwayne Smith, Jason Behrendorff, JP Duminy, Lasith Malinga, Manish Pandey, Mitchell McClenaghan.
