The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Thursday, roped Arjun Tendulkar in the India U19 squad for the upcoming U19 tour to Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, he will be a part of the squad led by the wicketkeeper-batsman from Delhi, Arjun Rawat. Moreover, India will play a couple of four-day matches in the island nation.
Wishes poured in since the news broke out on social media. International Cricket Council (ICC) also congratulated Arjun on his achievement. Sachin Tendulkar, his father, was also ecstatic to hear the news.
He noted his family will always stand by him and pray for his success.
“We are happy on Arjun being selected in India U-19 team. It is an important milestone in his cricketing life. Anjali (Tendulkar) and I will always support Arjun in his choices and pray for his success,” Tendulkar said.
Wyatt happy for Arjun
However, Danielle Wyatt, the England Women cricketer, was also happy for the youngster. She has met the young all-rounder quite a few times and shares a good rapport with him.
Wyatt, meanwhile, is currently gearing up for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. She, however, took time out from her busy schedule and expressed her delight after coming to know about the selection.
Wyatt responded to the tweet from ICC, and no wonder was happy for the 18-year-old.
She is popular in India for her famous marriage proposal to Virat Kohli a few years ago. She has often expressed her love for India and often enjoys her stay in this beautiful country.
