Former Australian deputy of Steven Smith, David Warner recently expressed his gratitude towards Northern Territory Strike League after playing in Darwin owing to the domestic competition.

In fact, this was the first time that Warner played on his home soil. And this subsequently happened following the ball-tampering scandal which surfaced in Cape Town.

Furthermore, Warner scored a fine 93 for City Cyclones to add a perfect cherry on the cake on his return to feature at home.

However, the combative southpaw felt seven runs short of the 100-run mark.

Meanwhile, Warner was not in the best of forms while leading the Winnipeg Hawks in the recently-concluded maiden Global Canada T20 League.

Warner, who is abandoned from any domestic and International cricket in Australia scored a fine 93 off 139 deliveries against Desert Blaze.

In fact, Warner can not partake in leagues sanctioned by Cricket Australia (CA).

However, he can ply on his trade for an independent tournament like Strike League.

“If I didn’t love it I wouldn’t be here. I’d probably retire but I’m enjoying it. I love it and have still got plenty of fuel in the tank. “I’m excited about the next eight months to reflect upon what’s happened, moving forward to be a better person,” Cricket Australia quoted Warner as saying.

However, Warner was only available for the weekend for City Cyclones. Cameron Bancroft, who avoided a serious injury will return to play in the Strike league.

David Warner took to Twitter to thank NT Cricket following his participation.

Warner post read as, “Thanks @ntcricket for allowing me to come up and participate in the strike league. I am very happy the Cyclones are now in the final. Fingers crossed for a spot in Adelaide March 3 next year. I’m there if we get up. ?
