David Warner might not be playing for Australia at the moment but the tainted batsman will be very close to all the action during the upcoming five-match One-day International series against Australia.

Interestingly, the southpaw will join Channel Nine’s commentary team for the series, starting next week.

Warner along with Steven Smith and Cameron Bancroft is serving the ban imposed on the trio in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal at Cape Town.

The trio has not played since the scandal in the third Test against South Africa in March, this year.

Moreover, in the aftermath of the scandal, Cricket Australia (CA) had slapped lengthy bans on the trio. While Smith and Warner received one-year ban each, Bancroft received a nine-month suspension.

“Dave is the best one-day and T20 batsman of the past decade. So he’s perfectly placed to join our coverage for the UK series,” Nine’s director of sports Tom Malone was quoted as saying to Cricket.com.au.

Meanwhile, Warner is also gearing up to return to competitive cricket.

Well, the hard-hitting batsman along with Smith will make his comeback at the Global T20 Canada League after being picked in the players draft.

“People have tried to paint Dave as the villain in all this, but he’s been hurting as much as the others. We’ve had a professional relationship with Dave for five years now. And we’ve always found him to be a pretty normal and humble bloke. He just wants to atone for his mistakes and move on. I hope Australia gives all of them that chance,” he further added.

Warner will be playing for Winnipeg Hawks in the inaugural Global T20 tournament in Canada. On the other hand, Smith will feature for Toronto Nationals as a marquee player in the tournament.

Warner will also play in the Darwin Strike League in July, alongside Bancroft. The ball-tamperer Bancroft will be available for the entire duration of the tournament.

On the other hand, David Warner will feature in two 50-over matches on July 21 and 22. At the Darwin Strike League, the left-handed batsman will play for Randwick Petersham, his club in Sydney
